France’s Neo Aquarium creates then sells unique all-in-one display

By on Sep 29, 2010

Neo Aquarium in Antibes Juan-les-Pins, France is showing off and selling a unique all-in-one display tank sure enough to turn some heads. In a nice bright yellow with clean, sweeping lines this display really is a work of art that looks to be more than quite functional. A lot of attention to detail was incorporated into the design and we’re sure after even spending an hour exploring this system, we’d still find things that amazed us.

At around 1,280l, the tank measures around 160 x 160 x 50cm with an angled glass front and open top saddled by a pair of matching eight-bulb T5 banks. We really like the support system for the lights and they appear to hinge along that bar running through making it a cinch to move a light to get in and clean, grab a rock or chase a fish. The tank and stand also feature an enclosed sump area with a 240l sumpalong with a bank of mini display tanks incorporated into the back side. Also built into this beauty is an on-board controller with wireless access.

What’s even more amazing is they are in the process in building an even more bad ass 1,400l setup we can’t wait to see. If you’re in the area you can actually buy this system to make room for the next version. The asking price is €2,000 without the electrical equipment and pumps. More intriguing images after the break.

I’m sorry, that stand reminds me of something that was an extra in one of the Fast & Furious movies.

Hmmm… Interesting… Doesn’t really suit my tastes, but it’s still interesting.

yeah I agree the stand and colored paneling is a bit flashy for my taste but the overall design is really nice, especially the angled panel. Would be great in straight black without the “wave” panel on the stand.

It’s beautiful. It’s just hard to match with most people’s decor

Wow for 2,000 euros someone should snatch this up. I would just do some extra paneling on the sides to cover up the hideous yellow. At 1280 liters, that’s 330 gallons or so!

I also like the QT tanks in the back (or maybe they’re nanos). But if plumbed separately that’d be great. Something I may incorporate into my next build.

Visually it would be more impressive if they created a cantilever design and had the front of the aquarium floating without the use of the front support legs. But hats off to Neo Aquarium for creating an all-in-one that is visually out of the norm.

This looks like an arcade game- which gives me a great idea on how to improve it. Attach one of those crane arm things and fill it full of frags. Put your quarter in and try your luck grabbing that mummy eye chalice. Every fish store should have one.

I thought it looked a lot like a pin ball machine too.

Cool idea, love the built in quarantine tanks, but you have to admit it’s pretty ugly
