ATB has a new skimmer called the Elegance 200 Pro Skimmer which is currently undergoing testing in their facility. The new skimmer (550mm or 21.6″ tall and a with a footprint of 280 x 230mm (11″ x 9″) is cone shaped with a large area towards the bottom that houses the pump. The cone actually goes all the way up to the collection cup, a direction that ATB has been taking on their newer models. The pump is an Airstar Pro which sucks in about 1800 lph while using a modest 37 watts and pushing 2200 lph (580 GPH) of water. Since this Elegance skimmer has been given the “Pro” moniker your going to get those nice advanced features like overflow protection. You’ll also get an efficient double bubble plate to increase water contact time with those all important bubbles. The real difference here is that the pump has been housed internally in the skimmer itself. The Elegance 200 Pro can be used either in sump our out, which suits our needs quite nicely. Interestingly enough, this skimmer is going to be priced at 620 euro ($862) which gives other skimmers a real run for their money. More pictures for your enjoyment below.
