Pacific Sun, manufactures of LED lighting equipment leaked out information this pas weekend regarding the Cube, a new device expected to play nice with current market products. Up until now the company has not had an all in one “cloud control” offering and the new Cube control unit seeks to change that with the inclusion of WIFI and Bluetooth connectivity that acts as a translator for their different devices that might support just Bluetooth or just WIFI.
The new device will include software that will allow you to control and fine tune your Pacific Sun equipment something that you have been able to do prior but with different software programs and the like. The software requires the cube be connected to your local internet connection which will then allow you to connect to your Pacific Sun devices remotely via the new Cube bridge device. The main reason why the device is so badly needed was how fast WIFI leaped over Bluetooth in reef equipment connectivity and the need for older devices that just use Bluetooth to be supported in a holistic environment. The new Cube bridge should be available in Q4 2014—pricing information was not released.
