It’s been a long time coming but finally the first full version of the Mobius control app is available in the Apple and Google stores. For at least a year Ecotech Marine has been working on a grand unifying platform called Mobius which we know many reefers have been eagerly awaiting.
At the moment, the Mobius app is only meant to control the newly released Versa pumps which have begun shipping to distributors all over the world. We repeat, Mobius can only control the brand new, heavy duty dosing pump from Ecotech Marine and even those rudimentary features will be expanded through the use of intelligent modes of operation called ‘Scenes’.
At present the dosing Scenes for the Versa using the Mobius app covers the most basic functions such as dosing major mineral elements like Calcium, Magnesium, and alkalinity, water changes etc. However in time we look forward to more specialized functions for the Versa like continuous dosing of kalkreactors, and pulsed feeding of liquid aquarium foods.
We repeat, for now Mobius is only enabled to work with the new Versa dosing pump, and we don’t know how long it’ll be until more devices can be added. But with the tagline of ‘Control Without Controller’, the Ecotech Marine vision of connected aquarium devices can’t come soon enough. [Mobius]
