In recent months many Lobophyllia vitiensis have began to pour into the states in mass due to increased collection in the Solomon Islands. In the past these corals were relatively uncommon or at least undesirable due to their relatively drab coloration. That’s all changed with the recent specimens.

Top Shelf Aquatics recently acquired (and quickly sold) the closest to a true rainbow vitiensis I have seen in recent history. With the same color scheme as typical jellybean style rainbow chalices this piece truly stood out from other members of the species featuring blue, red, yellow and green along with subtle hues of each.
To whatever lucky collector snagged this piece – consider us jealous!
