New pictures from Royal Exclusiv show more details of the dreamy Dreambox

To call Royal Exclusiv’s Dreambox and Nano Dreambox a sump is quite the understatement, it would be like calling the peppermint angelfish just a fish, because it clearly is a deity that swims among us. Likewise, the Royal Exclusiv vision for the Dreambox elevates the typical aquarium sump to the status of elite high performance water management and filtration center. The completely enclosed Dreambox feature extremely tight fitting lids and ports, a variable number of filter sock chambers for successively fine water filtration and more.

The secondary chamber is designed to provide an area of constant water level for a fine protein skimmer like a BK Mini 200 with an RD3 Speedy or one of the Royal Exclusiv Supermarin Double Cones. Additional options for the Royal Exclusiv Dreambox including matching water top off containers of the exact same cross sections, with a graduated scale machined right into the front panel to show your running water volume. Royal Exclusiv also makes a simple yet robust float switch that elegantly slips into one of the many ports of the Dreambox, and pumping water over from the matching top off reservoir.

Wow that is a sexy sump! LOL! I want one!

  • http://twitter.com/REEF2REEF REEF2REEF

Any ideas on the price point for these?

     My guess is easily $1000.

  • Barrie Grant

Their website states 715.00 Euro for the nano dream box!  I believe.

715.00 Euro likely without the skimmer I bet.

All these new decorator sumps and protein skimmers kinda make me laugh.  It’s clear they are designed very well and probably do work great, but I wonder how much all the white pumps and colored acrylic end up adding to the price. If there’s one thing you shouldn’t pay extra for when buying a sump, it’s pretty colors and clean white lines.

I wonder why so many filter socks,  and in different areas.   Different streams of water going into each area?

I mean really. Its a sump for crying out loud. Everything looks nice when its new. What will it look like in 5 years?

  • Phil Buell

7 filter socks on a sump of that size? LOL

Royal Exclusiv- They don’t just build something for everyone, but everything for someone.

Some people want nice stuff. I’ve spent $3500 on a set of kitchen knives. I have no regrets. Some people spend a million $$$’s on a house they only live in for six weeks out of the year. $300k cars you can only drive on sunny days. Etc, etc, etc…

It would be foolish for no one to cater to this purchasing demographic.

I believe the theory is you can use different size micron bags to improve filter efficiency and extend time between replacement. i.e. courser mesh nylon in the first stage, then progressively finer felt bags in the later stages.

And don’t forget about the cool blue LEDs in the BK Mini 200!

Didn’t you write about sumps exactly like these years ago already?

Looks like I’ll be searching back through years of sump posts during work tomorrow to find it.

Well although its a very nice unit at 715 euro it is a big chunk of change especially when that price is not calculating the shipping/duty /brokerage costs once these units are in North America.

But like Albert mentioned there will be a market for these units which will cater to individuals who have the deep pockets and want something clean.

Looks great!  Can’t wait until Bubble Magus makes knockoffs!

Wow, this was probably the douchiest thing I’ve read tonight, and that’s after spending the last hour on reddit and 4chan with the dredges…

“Wow, this was probably the douchiest thing I’ve read tonight”

That’s funny, I was just thinking the same thing about this:

“I’ve spent $3500 on a set of kitchen knives.”

    Enjoy your knives.

    That was a non-argument.

You might as well have countered by remarking on what a rainy day it was outside.

    Peace.
