The German stallworth EHEIM is making a strong push into the reef and marine markets with a few new items including the new EHEIM skimmarine 800 protein skimmer. This is a new venture for the aquarium giant and was recently spotted in Europe at Zoo Event in Kassel, Germany last month and teased in August by our friends at Acuaristica.
We aren’t sure what model pump is installed on this but we have a feeling this may either be a new model of pump designed specifically for foam fractitioners or an entirely new or improved line of pumps. The skimmer does take a lot of cues from other designs that have become standard in the marketplace — space-saving elevated platform for pump, bubble place, integrated silencer, machined knob for precise adjustments, etc.
Expect this to be released some time in 2014.
