Over the last 25 years MACNA has been a bastion of new ideas and cutting edge directions in the marine aquarium hobby; in the early years some presentations were filmed and available to purchase on VHS at the end of the show, or thereafter, but as MACNA has grown, the challenge of taping, editing and distributing the speaker’s presentations had been completely abandoned, until now.
It is with great excitement that we are pleased to reveal that the MACNA speaker presentations will be available to view online, for free! MACNA has now become a truly international event which is covered by every facet of the reef and marine aquarium media-sphere, of which Reef Builders has been a major player for many years. Bulk Reef Supply has been a steady producer of original video content from MACNA and other events, and this year they’ve taken the initiative to bring MACNA’s speaker presentations to a global online audience.
Nearly all of the MACNA speakers agreed to allow their presentations to be filmed and shared online for free, not only for those who couldn’t attend the biggest marine aquarium event in the world in Denver last month, but also for those who did attend. It is impossible to see all the MACNA speaker talks and have a productive time on the show floor, mingling with friends, seeing new products and discussing presentations that you have seen.
Furthermore, some of MACNA’s speakers presented on ground breaking ideas, and told the kind of marine aquarium stories that we simply don’t mind watching more than once. With the release of the first new crop of MACNA speaker videos in more than a decade, the Mile High MACNA group secures its legacy as the MACNA that brought back the recording of the presentations, and made them available online for free.
The taping of the MACNA speakers was an arduous task which couldn’t have been possible without Bulk Reef Supply. This friday Bulk Reef Supply will release the first crop of MACNA speaker videos with more to be announced and released on a weekly basis. Being able to watch and share the videos of the best marine aquarium, academic, and international aquarists in the world is going to add a whole new dimension to what a MACNA can mean and we for one can’t wait for this new post-MACNA chapter to begin.
