When we caught up with the team at Continuum at ReefAPalooza this weekend, we asked the rep what the coolest thing they had in their product line. What bottle of magic did they show us? Nothing. They picked up the AquaBlade and after a few seconds, we knew why.
Right off the bat, you could see it in the handle that this tool was meant to bend and flex and something you could put your shoulder behind thanks to a solid carbon fiber construction. It has just he right amount of flex, but feels solid in your hands.
Some other key features we liked when we got our hands on it, the plastic handle holding the blades is solid and built to minimize anywhere where water can enter the device, helping keep things dry when you pull it out of the water.
The polymer blade for acrylic systems is a thoughtful touch too. It is designed to wear away first vs. your acrylic. This means if you are scraping a tough spot, a normal PVC or ABS blade would just scratch the tank, now the blade will give first saving you from some serious “OH *bleep*!” moments. They also feature stainless steel blades for your glass tanks.
