Lightning maroon clownfish from Papua New Guinea appears at Blue Zoo Aquatics

We can count the times we’ve seen the Lightning Maroon Clownfish with one hand. This new guy was recently shipped via Papua New Guinea’s SEASMART program. The SEASMART program benefits us, the aquarists, and the village fisherman who collected the fish. Your next question is probably how can you get your hands on one of these delightful looking lightning Maroon clownfish?     Look how much the latz were just a year ago. I think this will be around $5000. Just a wild guess but it way outta my price range. Looks a lot cooler than any maroon I’ve ever seen.

    Funny thing about Latz is that they’ve only gone up in price over the last 10 years +. Back in the ’90′s they were only $100 fish, now they’re $500 and up for WC.

    Incredible fish that’s for sure! Unfortunately the clownfish hasn’t even been in this country for 48 hours yet, as it will have to suffer once again from the stressors of shipping. Turn em and burn em baby……that is one hot fish to have to actually handle for more than a few days!
