DeJong Marinelife, purveyor of much fine and exotic reef life and namesake of the illustrious Gramma dejongi basslet now has a new feather to put in its cap in the form of a new salt mix. DeJong Marinelife Salt Mix is the marinelife dealer’s own formula, used in house in huge quantities for their various marine aquarium systems.
The new salt mix from DeJong Marinelife will only be available in Europe in one of two tiers, Basic Salt and Finest Salt. The Basic Salt as you might have guessed has standard levels of calcium and buffer which DeJong uses for their soft coral and fish systems while the Finest Salt formula is enhanced with elevated levels of calcium, buffer and magnesium which is preferable for use on stony coral and especially SPS coral aquarium systems.
The new salt mixes with DeJong Marinelife’s name on them are very likely a private labeled product but if it’s good enough for one of Europe’s finest marinelife wholesalers, well by golly it’s good enough for the home marine aquarium hobbyist. [DeJong]
