In a short amount of time Ecotech Marine’s Vectra pumps have quickly become some of the most popular smart controllable DC return pumps in the aquarium hobby. It’s only been a few years and while many refinements have been made to the first generation Vectra in the background, today Ecotech has announced a true second generation successor, the Vectra 2.
Like the original line, the Vectra will come in a S2, M2 and L2 sizes and models with essentially all the same flow rate and power specifications as the first generation. The biggest change to the Generation 2 Vectras is primarily under the hood but you will notice a new and improved coupler which are closer to the body so you can squeeze this pump into even tighter spaces than before.
The biggest and most important changes to the second generation Vectras are improvements to the durability of the pumps themselves. There’s better thermal management and cooling channels tailored for the needs of each Vectra models and an improved mounting base helps to keep the Vectras some of the quietest possible water pumps in the aquarium hobby. Prices for the Vectra S2, M2 and L2 will remain the same and they should start appearing at retailers later this month.
