LiveAquaria’s Diver’s Den gets NPS section

By on Nov 16, 2010

Yesterday was a big day for the NPS (non-photosynthetic) crowd with LiveAquaria’s Diver’s Den – a store well known for it’s high quality WYSIWYG livestock – finally adding a section dedicated to NPS corals. The Diver’s Den NPS section will contain all the WYSIWYG NPS corals, sponges and filter feeding inverts featured on the website. It is another sign of the increasing popularity of non-photosynthetic aquariums and the non-photosynthetic tank enthusiasts are quite excited about the move, as high quality NPS livestock is still hard to come by.  If you’re a NPS enthusiast be sure to check out the NPS Diver’s Den section as the crew of LiveAquaria will be uploading a lot more exiting livestock.

Good for them, I’ve heard a few stories about people who insta-clicked due to the pretty picture, not to realize until after they got it that it was a non-photosynthetic coral.

wow, that’s a gutsy thing for a company with a livestock guarantee to do. Noob trap if there ever was one, for sure. Hopefully they don’t end up losing their ass on refunds!

All the harder species are labeled as “expert only”, and their advanced care is clearly stated. No “noob trap” at all.

They’ve always sold n.p.s. stuff, and it was labeled as such in the “soft coral” section. Nothing new here as far as what they’re offering. The new thing is the fact that is now in its own obvious section. My guess is they were taking it in the shorts on their livestock guarantee from people claiming that they didn’t know they were buying NPS. With it in a separate section now, that claim is going to be a tough one and should actually save LiveAquaria some money in refunds.

Thats a good point, I think this will save them refund money. But, I think its also a growing part of the hobby, maybe the fastest growing part of the hobby right now, and arguably the most interesting. They want to encourage and support this growth.

I like it, I’m interested in sponges and stuff, easier to find this way, it might also get more people into NPS
