Here’s another addition of our Friday Smorgasbord featuring a few fun videos that captured our attention this past week. We have an underwater music fest, kitesurfer vs. whale, eel battle royale and some police having a bit of fun on a call. Enjoy!
That’s My Jam!
The 33rd Annual Underwater Music Fest is taking place this Saturday, July 8, at Looe Key Reef in the Florida Keys. The festival was founded by Bill Becker, the coordinator and music director of UMF, to raise awareness for coral preservation. If you ever need an excuse to visit this Keys, this just might be it (and for a great cause too).
Things That Go Bump…
Humpback whales have been making their way under the Golden Gate Bridge and into the San Francisco Bay and this particular kite surfer happened to be video taping himself when he bumps over a whale. He seems pretty oblivious to it until after it happens. We were actually hoping to see something cool, like an Ollie over the whale.
Eel vs. Octopus vs. Cameraman
This one isn’t new, but its interesting. Here we see an eel battle with an octupus. After a bit of a tussle and the loss of part of its tentacle, the octopus jets off. The eel, obviously still in the fighting mode, turns its attention to the cameraman….CHOMP!
Having Some Fun
The Fourth of July in the US gets people outside and having fun…sometimes a bit too much fun causing complaints the police department have to respond too. This is a great viral video of two police that were called for a noise complaint in Ashville, NC. When they arrived, they saw neighbors put together a big slip-n-slide and all the noise was just kids having fun. The police then decided to join in the fun, taking their turns and bringing plenty of smiles to these people’s faces.
