NYOS foods are hitting the US market with a couple of other options for your corals, inverts and filter feeders with the availability of NYOS Instant Plankton and NYOS LPS Power. Earlier we shared news about two of the liquid zooplankton foods from NYOS that are now also making their way here.
NYOS Instant Plankton is a dry, plankton-based microfeed that has a particle size between 5-20 microns. They are designed to “cluster” and what this means is the food is made up of small spheres that stick together creating small air pockets allowing it to float in the water column longer.
The company notes, “The round, raspberry-like shape of these feed clusters promotes the absorption for corals and filter-feeders.”
The Instant Plankton is great for azoox corals, LPS, ricordeas, zoanthids and delicate fish like pipefish or dragonets. The food is enriched with numerous vitamins and supplements and the recommend the use of their NYOS Absolute Aminos to top them off.
NYOS LPS Power is a certified organic soft granulate designed especially for LPS corals with all the essential nutrients needed to give the corals additional strength, color and growth. The particle sizes here are 1.2-1.8mm.
As mentioned earlier, these have been on the market for a bit and are now available in the US since EcoTech Marine began importing these in the past week or so.
